It's Alive!
I haven't felt too compelled to write lately. Wrestling with this leg injury, trying to find money/charities/government/family help with this is just draining. It will be a full year next Wednesday, and I'm still limping around. Help is getting harder to find, as is work. Economy isn't helping, nor is the predominant attitude toward healthcare in this country.
"If we socialize medicine, where does it stop?!?!?"
Let me tell you where it stops, you paranoid, self-delusional "conservative". It stops at medicine.
"And if we legalize marijuana, what's going to keep us from legalizing murder, too?!?"
Uhhmmm....Common decency? (I take it you've never been around stoners. Last time I checked, it isn't illegal (or even a literal equivalent) to murder a box of twinkies and a bag of Chips Ahoy...)
Update: Threw the mary-jane part in to throw people off. I don't smoke, and probably wouldn't even if it was legal. I just don't like the idea of my tax money (when I'm generating it) going to jail harmless people.

Looking at $40K in hospital bills right now and the sad fact that they are deeming everything I submit "pre-existing" (bullshit), I am SO pro-socialized healthcare. When my daughter was going to school in London and she was sick, she walked into a clinic and they took care of her, her meds, and gave her no bill. I sometimes consider moving to Canada with all the BS we've dealt with with doctors and insurance companies.
Makes me wish I had a nice fattie to smoke. :)
